Bibliography...
Final images- my partners design...
firstly i really liked the idea of my partners design and i was really excited to try it. I feel that i was given enough time to practise the design to ensure i was confident in the timed assessment. This design was simple enough for me to create without panicking to much however it is really effect and looks far more complex than the application process turned out to be. I feel as though i could have made the lips slightly darker around the outer corners using more black, however after the assessment was finished my partner informed me i had got it just right when i pointed this out. I really enjoyed applying this look and i feel it comes across brilliantly in the final images above.

As far as my final makeup application goes i am pleased with the outcome i feel that my partner followed my face chart well and stuck to the look i was after. I feel that i needed far more blush however because in some of the images the blush is far less visible under the studio light. Although i feel it could have been more prominent. I do like my design however on reflection i feel i could have done more to add to the contemporary feel of the design. Although as a whole look i feel it works because i didn't want to create a makeup look that was to over the top with very over the top hair to match i feel you need to know when i reign it in and keep things simpler and this is the approach i took with my makeup look. I think i could have improved it by cutting my eyelashes shorter. These would have worked better just as corner lashes rather than as lashes across the entire eye. Over all i feel i could have made far more improvements.

Here are a few different images of some different actors that have played queen Elizabeth the 1st in several different time periods. I really like looking at these different images and the many different styles and interpretations each has had. They each capture a different classic element of the Elizabethan queen, and each also show there own contemporary twist of the era in which they were created. I really enjoy looking through these images and its really interesting to see many different interpretations of just one woman.
Development of monochromatic colour- Blue...
Heres my journey through pictures of my exploration of the colour blue and its monochromatic palette.
These are my 2 final images after being edited, I'm really pleased with the outcome. I didn't want to edit them to much but i did define the jaw, retouch the skin and increase the intensity of colour and saturation.

During this week my partner created my final make-up design. I feel it went really well and she followed my instructions and managed to create exactly what i was envisioning, i think this is due to my face chart, step by step instructions and the time i allowed her to prep herself before hand.

During this week I created Becky’s look for her. During the timed assessment i felt confident in my application as i feel i was prepared well in terms of professionalism and also in terms of the amount of time Becky allowed me to have to prep and practise before hand. I feel that it went really well and i managed to create Becky’s desired look well.

Technical lesson- week 6- the classic Elizabethan...
Equipment used:

Step 1: Firstly you need to prep your model and station (see weeks 1&2)
Step 2: Apply a white base using a 50/50 mix of the white base and matte primer ( see week 2)
Step 3: Apply the blush to the apples of the cheeks, be sure to scrape the blush and tap into the lid rather than dipping straight into the product, this will stop bacteria
Step 4: apply the white base to the lashes in backwards and forward motions. Make sure you get right to the root, do this to both the top and bottom lashes
Step 5: To white out the eyebrows brush through the white base, ensuring you go against the hairs first and then brush in the opposite direction, you may want to go back and repeat this after it has sunk it, be sure to powder everything once you are confident you have finished with all cream/liquid based products.

Step 1: Set up your station and prep your model (see weeks 1&2)
Step 2: Apply a flawless foundation base to your models face and neck (see week 2)
Step 3: You contour, highlight and add blush to your model to complement the rest of the makeup (see week 3)
Step 4: Using a lip liner in your chosen colour and a powder puff on your finger to lean against the skin so you don't ruin your makeup application with the side of your hands, with the models lips parted begin to draw a line using small backwards and forward strokes increasing the line length as you go, start from the out corner and make your way to the centre or the tip of the cupids bow. From here go on to join up all parts of the line until finished. When drawing on the bottom lip if you are starting from the centre draw a faint line down the middle of the lips from the centre of the cupids bow to ensure you find the true middle and draw outwards from here.
Step 5: Add on your chosen lipstick colour using a lip brush and be sure to blend your lip line to ensure its not to harsh.

Step 3: Now you need to decide on what eye shape your model has and dependent on that is where you apply the colour. My model had a mixture between small eyes, and small lid, large brow. Step 1: Ensure to set up your station correctly and prep your models face (see week 1)
Step 2: You then need to go onto create a flawless base for your model (see week 2)
Step 3: Now you need to select a foundation that is 2 shades lighter and 2 shades darker than your models skin tone. Once you have done this you need to apply the lighter shade to all the high points on the face such as down the centre of the nose, the tops of cheekbones, cupids bow etc, these will act as a highlights. Using the darker shade you selected you need to add these to the points in the face that will enhance face shape and add shadow and definition such as under the cheek bones, down the sides of the nose and on the temples.
Step 4: Next you need to pick out a blush shade for your model, use lighter more subtle colours on fair haired people, and stronger coloured blushes on darker hairs and skin tones.
Once you have chosen a blush colour you apply this to the apples of the cheeks, use the iris of the eye as your guide you should take blush no further than this towards the nose if your wanting to create a natural flush.

Step 1: After gowning your model and setting up your station correctly laying couch roll out to cover any surfaces you will be using with your products layer out neatly and so they are easily accessible you need to the ensure you have prepped your models skin properly this will include cleansing and toning (see week 1)
Step 2: You will need to match the foundation to your models skin tone, you do this by adding a little to the jaw line and see how it matches. You then adjust accordingly depending on how alike your matching is.
Step 3: You now begin to apply this evenly over the skin and ensuring to also bring it down the neck and also a little over the ears to ensure all skin is matching. Also ensuring you buff it in as you go to create a flawless base
Step 4: Now you go on to add concealer onto any parts of the face that need it to cover blemishes, spots or any imperfections there may be. When choosing a concealer you can go up to 2 shades lighter than your models skin tone. This can be used under the eyes, on the nose etc to also add to the high points on the face.
